It Was Published In 1927 And Is Supposedly A Collection Of Sea Songs From 1890-1920. Paddy West Is Described In The Book As Being A Sort Of Folk Take Among Sailors Of The Time, With No Way To Tell If Paddy West Was A Real Person. As Rex Clements States,“All Sailors Are Familiar, At Least By Name,With That Heroic Figure Of The Days Of Crimping” (Clements, 94).
