This is the basic tune for pretty much the whole song apart from the chorus and bridge, and from what I can
tell follows HappyHappy's tendency to use a lot of power chords.
 
I'd recommend listening to the song to get the strumming pattern down, but I tend to do one downstroke on the
11/13, mute a second downstroke while sliding down to the 10, then follow through with an upstroke on the
10/11, a slight pause, then three more hits on the 10/13, starting and ending with upstrokes.
 
On the third section just before the whole thing repeats, after the first two chords slide down to
the 6/8 shape and play one downstroke, wait a beat, then do seven more alternating strokes.
 
Alternatively, you can play the first two chords on the A and D string at 6/8 and 5/8, then switch to E and A
for the last 6/8. It's personal preference, but I do think it's originally all on the bottom two strings.
 
Starting with the line "It was the [worst day ever]" we move into the chorus, with the first chord hitting on
the word "worst":

Again, listen to the track for precise strumming, but for the chorus I use entirely downstrokes for the actual
notes, and alternating for the dead ones. There's a slight pause between each of the 3/5 and 6/8's beats
whereas the 8/10 and 11/13 are played pretty close together. Repeat this twice and you've got the whole chorus

Strumming pattern here feels like a downstroke, slight pause, a down and an up, then a trio of up, down, and
up again. This whole thing plays through 3 times in the bridge, except on the last repeat you should change
the ending slighty. Instead of playing the whole 11/13 set, play this:

Let both of the chord ring for around half the total time you would have played the whole group of 11/13 for
in the last two repeats for the bridge, then do the same for the lone 10 on the low E. Then you've just got to
return to the intro/verse riff again and you're done! HappyHappy loves doing progressions that lead you right
back to the same shape you need for the next section, just like here - the end of the bridge is the same as
the start of the intro/verse.
