In contrast to the USA, Mexico "opens the doors" for the World Cup
While the United States faces criticism for restrictions and difficulties reported by visitors arriving in the country during the World Cup, Mexico is betting on a welcoming message for tourists and fans.
With the slogan "Big Heart", the country seeks to reinforce an image of hospitality and diversity. According to Mexico City's Director of Tourism, Jenny Serur, the objective is to convey a message of inclusion to visitors.
"We say to the world: here there is no classism, there is no racism, there is no discrimination," he said. "each country has its own way of thinking, but in Mexico, everyone is welcome", he continues.
Mexico expects to receive around 5 million tourists during the tournament, which marks the third time that the country has hosted a World Cup.

After organizing the 1970 World Cup, when it was still seen as a developing nation, and the 1986 World Cup, held a year after a devastating earthquake, the country now wants to present itself as a global and technological nation.
To this end, the government invested billions of reais in infrastructure, focusing mainly on urban mobility. Airports, roads and stadiums underwent modernization works to welcome visitors, totaling R$41 billion in investments.
The authorities advise fans to use public transport to get to the 13 games that will be played in the country. In Mexico City, known for its congestion, the transport system is seen as an alternative to reduce travel time.
On a journey between the center of the capital and the Azteca Stadium, for example, the combination of metro and high-speed train allows you to complete the journey in around 40 minutes, half the estimated time for the same journey by car. The trip costs the equivalent of approximately R$ 2.30.
Stage of the World Cup opening ceremony, Azteca will become the first stadium in the world to host three World Cup opening ceremonies. The arena has already hosted the 1970 and 1986 finals and will host, in addition to the opening, four more matches in this edition of the tournament.
The cities of Guadalajara and Monterrey also underwent urban interventions and modernization projects to host the competition.
Responsible for managing the three Mexican stadiums used in the World Cup, a Brazilian professional highlighted the excitement of working at Azteca. "Every time I enter here, I get goosebumps," said Daniel Robles.
With works completed and millions of visitors expected, Mexico claims to be ready to welcome the world with open doors.
