US President Donald Trump told the Axios news website this Monday (8) that he warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel would isolate itself if it continued to attack Iran.
"I said, 'Bibi, you better be careful, or you'll be alone very soon,'" Trump told Axios reporter and CNN contributor Barak Ravid.
Trump said Israel gave the United States "very late warning" about the attacks on Iran on Sunday (7), which have now ceased. At the same time, Netanyahu signaled that attacks could resume.

"These countries were very concerned. They love the deal we're negotiating," Trump said, without specifying which countries had reached out.
Iranian authorities also contacted him, Trump said, saying they would cease firing if Israel backed down.
Toque agora.
"They called us and said they were not going to do any more attacks and asked us to tell Israel not to do any more attacks either," Trump told Axios.
Netanyahu preparing 'major attack'
Israel was preparing for a significant attack on Tehran on Monday when Trump called Netanyahu to ask him to postpone further attacks, according to an Israeli source and a US official.
Trump's intervention appears to have worked. Netanyahu then announced that Israel has suspended attacks on Iran for the time being.
This would have been Trump's second phone call to Netanyahu in a matter of hours; In an earlier conversation, Trump also directed the Israeli leader to pull back on strikes in response to the series of missiles Iran fired at Israel.
Netanyahu resisted Trump's arguments in the first call, which took place on Sunday night (7). He insisted that Israel had to respond to Iran's attacks, the Israeli source said. Trump told Netanyahu to limit the scope of retaliation to avoid further escalation.
Subsequently, Israel attacked targets in Iran, including a major petrochemical facility.
The tone of the phone conversations was not as heated as the calls between the two leaders last week, when Trump even called Netanyahu crazy.
In both of his most recent calls, Trump underscored his conviction that a deal with Iran was in the final stages of negotiation and that a return to war could hamper efforts to resolve the conflict diplomatically.
