Corinthians has three more advisors expelled from membership

Maria Angela Ocampos, Paulo Juricic and Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé, Corinthians advisors, were expelled from Corinthians' membership this Monday (8). The decision was taken by the councilors, who met at Parque São Jorge to deliberate on the issue through voting.

They were all tried for the invasion of the club's presidency floor on May 31, 2025. On that occasion, Maria Angela Ocampos declared herself president of the Deliberative Council and ordered the return of Augusto Melo to the presidency of the board, annulling the removal imposed by the body.

Augusto Melo was even expelled from the club's membership last Monday (1st) due to this episode.

Maria Angela Ocampos had been acting as the first secretary of the Deliberative Council. Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé was part of the Ethics Committee. Paulo Juricic was also from Ethics, but resigned his post in 2025.

Mario Mello Junior, another member of the Ethics Committee, would also have his expulsion voted, but the meeting was postponed due to the counselor's own medical issues.

On May 31, 2025, Augusto Melo tried to take back command of Corinthians in an episode that was interpreted by many as an attempted coup. Allies of the former president invaded the presidency room at Parque São Jorge and tried to remove Osmar Stabile, then interim president of the club.

On the same occasion, Maria Angela Ocampos declared herself president of the Deliberative Council, a position that was held by Romeu Tuma Júnior.

The counselor was based on a request from the club's Ethics Committee, filed that month, which requested the removal of Romeu Tuma Júnior from command of the Council. With this, she argued that she would assume the presidency of the body, since the first vice-president, Roberson de Medeiros, was on medical leave.

Both Romeu Tuma Júnior and Osmar Stabile did not recognize the act and classified it as illegitimate.

In June 2025, the Justice Committee of the Deliberative Council and Cori (Guidance Council) released an open letter reinforcing that they saw no statutory support for the measures adopted by Augusto Melo and Maria Angela Ocampos. In the document, the bodies stated that the Ethics Committee is subordinate to the Deliberative Council and that, at no time, Romeu Tuma Júnior was notified about a possible removal from his position.

On the same day as the invasion of Parque São Jorge, Dr. Leonardo Pantaleão, who provided legal advice to the interim management during that period, registered a police report for illegal harassment, false imprisonment, threat, insult and riot.

On August 9, 2025, the partners confirmed the definitive removal of Augusto Melo from the presidency of Corinthians.

In total, 1,413 members voted in favor of the dismissal, while 620 were against. Two blank votes and two invalid votes were also recorded.

In addition to losing his position, Augusto was ineligible for 10 years.
