Shakira reveals that she almost abandoned music to live in the countryside: "Madness"

Singer Shakira, 49, revealed that she was determined to leave her career in the industry and exchange for a calm life in the countryside.

In an interview with Vogue magazine, she said that a few years ago she was going to leave the spotlight: "A few years ago, I was ready to buy a farm, raise animals and retire from music. But looking back, I think: 'That's crazy!' She believes that she was not ready to leave the stage and there was still a lot she wanted to share with the world. "I had and have much more to say and do. Sometimes we simply don't give due value to what we do, or we forget who we are."

Now, at 49 years old, she has four Grammys and recently performed the biggest show of her career when she participated in Todo Mundo no Rio, when she sang her songs to two million people in Copacabana. With the support of the public after the last turbulent years, she reflects that she feels comfortable being on stage. "When I perform, I'm not just performing in front of 'an audience.'

She completes the interview by saying that she is not close to stopping and resuming her life plans in the countryside. Regarding the future, she says she hopes to play a role in "Zootopia 3" - in the initial films, she played Gazelle and created music for the animation - and that she wants to perform in some iconic place in Paris, like on the banks of the Seine or at the Eiffel Tower. "People are wondering, 'Where's her off switch? I haven't found it yet.'"
