Rush officially returned to the stage and thrilled fans by performing their first full show in 11 years. The performance took place last Sunday, the 7th, at the Kia Forum, in Inglewood, California, marking the debut of the "Fifty Something" tour.

Rush at a show on the Fifty Something tour

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson took to the stage accompanied by drummer Anika Nilles, chosen to take on the difficult task of filling the position that belonged to the late Neil Peart. Keyboardist Loren Gold, known for his work with The Who and Chicago, also participated in the live lineup.

Almost two and a half hours long, the show began with "Xanadu", a classic from the 1977 album A Farewell to Kings. According to setlist.fm records, this was the first time that the song opened a Rush performance.

The repertoire brought memorable moments for progressive rock fans, including "Limelight", "Freewill", "The Spirit of Radio", "Red Barchetta", "YYZ" and "Tom Sawyer". At times, archival footage of Neil Peart was shown on the screen, accompanied by audio of the drummer talking about his love for the instrument.

The performance also featured "Time Stand Still", which had a special appearance by Aimee Mann, a singer who collaborated on the original recording of the song. In the encore, Rush surprised by playing "By-Tor & The Snow Dog" for the first time live since 2004, ending the night with "Working Man" and another tribute to Neil Peart.

Brazilian fans can also celebrate: the "Fifty Something" tour will pass through Brazil in 2027. The performances are scheduled for Curitiba, on January 22nd, at Arena da Baixada; São Paulo, on January 24, at Allianz Parque; Rio de Janeiro, on January 30, at the Nilton Santos Stadium; Belo Horizonte, on February 1st, at Mineirão; and Brasília, on February 4, at Arena BRB Mané Garrincha.
