See the Wimbledon calendar, the next Grand Slam of the season

With the end of Roland Garros and the clay season on the world tennis circuit, the next Grand Slam of the season approaches. Wimbledon, the oldest and most traditional tournament on the circuit, starts on June 29th with surprises and promises.

This year, the tournament has a big new feature. The organization said it will adopt ELC (Electronic Line-Calling) technology, which uses AI and cameras to track the ball's trajectory, in real time and 3D, eliminating line judges. "VAR" will also be available for reviews of two touches of the ball and touches of the net on the Center Court and on Courts 1, 2, 3, 12 and 18.

The awards will also be record-breaking. The men's and women's singles champions receive £4 million each (R$22.4 million). In total, the organization will distribute 53.5 million pounds (R$364 million) divided equally between men and women.

Grass tournament calendar
Before the start of Wimbledon, other tournaments open competitions on grass. 's-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands), Stuttgart (Germany), Halle (Germany), London (England), Mallorca (Spain) and Eastbourne (England) are on the ATP calendar.

On the WTA calendar, tennis players compete in London (England), 's-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands), Berlin (Germany), Nottingham (England), Bad Homburg (Germany) and Eastbourne (England).

After his great campaign at Roland Garros, Fonseca has already secured his participation in the ATP 500 in Halle, on June 15.

Alcaraz out of contention
The known casualty for the Wilbledon tournament is Carlos Alcaraz. Injured, the number 2 in the ranking announced his withdrawal during Roland Garros.

The player is recovering from a wrist problem, which has kept him off the court since the ATP in Barcelona in April.

"My recovery is progressing well and I'm feeling much better, but unfortunately I'm not ready to play yet and therefore have to withdraw from the grass season at Queen's and Wimbledon. These are two very special tournaments for me and I will miss them very much. We continue to work hard to get back as soon as possible," he said.
