On Corinthians' social media, midfielder Gustavo Sales spoke about the positive result this morning: "Very happy for the victory, for the three points. As we hadn't won in the last round of the Paulista and tied in the Brazilian Championship, it was good to win again to have confidence, to play Tuesday against Grêmio with confidence. It's important to train giving my best even without being a starter so that when I have the opportunity I can enjoy it in the best possible way."
Now, Timãozinho will return to the pitch next Tuesday (9), at 3pm (Brasília time), to host Grêmio, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, for the third round of the classification phase of the 2026 Brazilian Under-17 Championship. So far, Alvinegro has scored four points in the first two rounds.
Under-15
A little earlier, in the same place, the U15 category beat the same opponent 1 x 0, with a goal from striker Pedrito, near the end of the first stage. The result meant that Filhos do Terrão maintained a 100% success rate - five wins in five games; 25 goals scored and two conceded. Ibrachina is right behind with 10 accumulated points.
Coach Eduardo Vergueiro chose the following formation to start the match: Arthur Trelha; Carrieri (Paulo Henrique), Murilo, Duarte (Carioca) and Kevin (Leo Abachioni); Marcos Paulo, Henrique (Juan Felipe) and João Miguel (Rafa Japa); Bryan (Gui Brasil), Pedrito and Guga Bom (Igor Macedo).
The substitutes were: Renan, Paulo Henrique, Léo Toledo, Carioca, Leo Abachioni, Gui Brasil, Juan Felipe, Rafa Japa and Igor Macedo. Timãozinho will only return to the field next Saturday, June 13th, at 9am (Brasília time), to visit São Caetano, at the Anacleto Campanella Stadium, for the sixth round of the state classification phase.
After the final whistle, the scorer of Timão Pedrito's goal, spoke to the Corinthians base's social media - Filhos do Terrão page - and celebrated the triumph: "I think the game was very good due to the difficulties of the pitch and the small field, I think the game was very good, team very organized and to keep working for the next games. Happy for the goal, for helping my team and that's it. Go Corinthians!"
