An interview recovered from 2010 once again placed the universe of Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O at the center of discussions about representation, humor and prejudice.

During the promotion of one of the films in the Jackass franchise, the members were asked about the strong homoerotic content present in several games, challenges and scenes that helped transform the program into a worldwide cultural phenomenon.

At the time, the artists completely rejected any interpretation that the content had homophobic motivations. On the contrary, they argued that many of the situations created by the group ended up provoking precisely those spectators who showed discomfort when faced with displays of affection, nudity or physical proximity between men.

Steve-O even stated that the team saw this type of humor as an indirect way of challenging prejudices. According to him, exposing a predominantly heterosexual audience to situations considered uncomfortable could contribute to normalizing images and behaviors often seen as taboo by more conservative sectors of society.

Johnny Knoxville summarized the group's vision simply, stating that the objective was always to generate humor and comic relief, without any discriminatory intention.

The discussion gained relevance once again because many critics and cultural researchers began to analyze the impact of the franchise over the last 25 years. While some point out that certain jokes aged poorly, others argue that the show helped present a less rigid form of masculinity to audiences at the time.

Originally released by MTV in the early 2000s, Jackass turned its members into international stars and influenced an entire generation of programs featuring physical humor and extreme challenges. The franchise is still alive and is preparing to end its cinematic trajectory with the film "Jackass: Best and Last", announced as the group's definitive farewell.

Even after decades of controversies, accidents and criticism, Johnny Knoxville and his companions continue to defend that the spirit of the franchise has always been linked to friendship, absurdity and the breaking of social conventions through humor.
