Dense forest, mountains and clear skies: what's behind UFO reports

Recent reports of alleged UFOs in Brazil have gone viral on social media. But after all, why do sightings of mysterious lights usually happen in remote regions, surrounded by forest and little urban presence?

In recent days, influencer Mayk Leão went viral after claiming to have seen luminous objects over a rural area in Campo Largo. Shortly afterwards, a resident of Chapada dos Veadeiros also published videos showing lights amid the mountains in the region.

Although there is no official confirmation about extraterrestrial phenomena, the cases have something in common: they occurred in places with high relief, extensive vegetation, low light pollution and little urban occupation.

In the case of Chapada dos Veadeiros, the scenery is still surrounded by symbolism. The region has been known for decades for reports involving spirituality, mystical energy and possible sightings of flying saucers.

The place is crossed by the so-called 14th Parallel, an imaginary line often associated by enthusiasts with extraterrestrial phenomena. The presence of large quartz deposits underground also fuels theories about "energy" and "portals".

In Campo Largo, in the interior of Paraná, the reports occurred in a rural area surrounded by vegetation and mountains, far from large urban centers.

These regions have clearer skies and little artificial lighting, allowing you to observe invisible details in capitals, such as satellite movements and bright stars.

Sighting in Chapada dos Veadeiros
This time, the videos were recorded in Chapada dos Veadeiros, in Goiás, on the night of last Wednesday (3).

The images were published by Letícia Santos, who made fun of the situation when commenting on the case. "Just after Mayk, I think everything is a flying saucer," he said in one of the videos.

Hours later, around 8:50 pm, she published new records again and stated that she was scared by the comments about possible aliens. "It is no longer enough to be afraid of jaguars appearing here in Chapada, now we are afraid of things that appear in the sky", he commented.

Case on the beach in Paraná

The recording was made by Willyan Adriano, around 1:10 am. According to him, the video was recorded while he and his wife accessed a monitoring camera facing the Balneário Ipanema promenade.

The images show bright points close to the sea. At one point, one of the objects appears to rise, remain still for a few seconds, and then move away.
