The First Capital Command (PCC) and the Red Command (CV) officially joined the list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations in the United States. The designation was published in the Federal Register, the official journal of the American federal government, this Friday (5), and places the Brazilian factions alongside more than 90 groups recognized as terrorists by the Americans.

According to CNN International editor Jessica Petrovna, the classification allows the United States to block assets of these organizations and prohibits any type of transaction with them. "These organizations are also included in the US Treasury Department's sanctions list," he explained to CNN 360° this Friday.

With this, the PCC and the Red Command now appear on the same list of groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.

According to Jéssica Petrovna, the inclusion of Brazilian factions is part of a broader movement by Donald Trump to increase pressure on criminal organizations in Latin America.
