Russian attack near Kiev kills 4, says Ukraine

A Russian drone attack against a food company in a region close to the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, killed four people, regional governor Mykola Kalashnyk reported this Friday (5).

Also according to Kalashnyk, the attack caused a fire in an administrative building located on the company's premises and parts of the structure were destroyed.
The attacks occurred hours after the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, publish an open letter addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, proposing a meeting between the two and the end of the war.

In the letter, Zelensky criticizes Putin's actions towards Ukraine in the last two decades and highlighted the consequences of the war, such as the deaths of soldiers and the increase in prices on Russian territory.
"The choice is now yours. Enough of the war. Ukraine proposes to put an end to it war. This must be done with honesty, dignity and with guarantees that the war will not be reignited", says an excerpt from the letter.
After suggesting a face-to-face meeting with Putin, Zelensky says that the meeting between the leaders should take place outside Russia or Ukraine. The Ukrainian president also suggests a total ceasefire during negotiations between the countries.
"There are countries that traditionally receive leaders to resolve issues of war and peace. Switzerland, Turkey and countries in the Arab world, for example."

After the release of the letter, the Russian government stated that the Ukrainian president is invited to Russia.
"Zelensky can come to Moscow at any time," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to state media, adding that Putin had not yet seen Zelensky's letter.
US President Donald Trump said it would be "great" for Volodymyr Zelensky to meet with Vladimir Putin.
"I'm glad you're talking about meeting. I think we had a lot to do with it," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "I think it would be great if they met."
