Rio's streets are decorated for the World Cup
The most valued players on the planet, distributed among 48 teams, begin competing in the 2026 World Cup on June 11.
France, owner of a squad full of stars, leads not only the FIFA ranking - which classifies teams according to their international performance -, but also the list of the most valuable teams in the World Cup.

Together, the French athletes called up for the competition add up to 1.53 billion euros in market value - the equivalent of R$9 billion at the exchange rate on May 28th. Next comes England, with 1.32 billion euros, or R$7.78 billion.
Brazil occupies sixth place among the most valuable teams, with 912.2 million euros in market value (R$5.37 billion). In addition to France and England, the Brazilian team is behind Spain, Portugal and Germany. (see the complete ranking below)
The values are based on data from the website Transfermarkt, which specializes in market value estimates in football. The platform calculates the values of athletes based on market demand and considers factors such as transfer fees, age, performance, future potential, salary and contract length of players.

The data also shows which players are the most valuable in each team. Among the highlights are the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, the Spanish Lamine Yamal and the Norwegian Erling Haaland. Each has an estimated market value of 200 million euros (R$ 1.17 billion).
The most valued Brazilian is striker Vini Jr., estimated at 150 million euros (R$ 882.5 million).
Together, all the players called up from the ten teams add up to more than R$57 billion in market value.
