Man held hostage inside car is rescued by PM in Guarulhos

A 62-year-old man who was held hostage in a car during a robbery was rescued by the Military Police in the early hours of Thursday (4), in Jardim Monte Alegre, in Guarulhos.

Two suspects, aged 18 and 30, were arrested red-handed. The PM was informed about a robbery with restriction of the victim's freedom in progress. Based on the characteristics provided, the police located and intercepted the vehicle used by the criminals.

Inside the car, the agents found the victim in the control of two suspects, who occupied the driver's seat and the passenger seat. In images obtained by CNN Brasil, it is possible to see the moment when the criminals' vehicle parks at a gas station. At this moment, the Military Police vehicle was already operating. The team captures the criminals and rescues the man in the trunk.

The victim reported that he was working as a minibus driver when he was approached by the robbers. During the action, the criminals announced the robbery and threatened him. His face was then covered with a cap and he was forcibly placed in the vehicle used to escape, where he remained until he was located by the police.

In addition to the vehicle driven by the victim, the suspects and accomplices who participated in the action took a cell phone, a charger and a backpack.

During the incident, the police discovered that the vehicle used by the criminals was circulating with tampered license plates. After consulting the chassis, it was verified that the car had another identification and was listed as stolen.

The suspects were arrested and taken to the 4th Police District of Guarulhos, where the case was registered as robbery, receiving, tampering with a motor vehicle identification sign and location/seizure and delivery of a vehicle.
