FIFA confirmed, this Thursday (4), the presence of singer Shakira at the opening ceremony of the World Cup, on June 11, at the Azteca stadium, in Mexico City.
In addition to the Colombian, the organization also confirmed the presence of Nigerian singer Burna Boy. The two were responsible for releasing "Dai Dai", the official song of the 2026 World Cup.
This will be the third time that Shakira will participate in official World Cup ceremonies. In 2010, in South Africa, the Colombian singer released the hit 'Waka Waka'. Four years later, at the Copa do Brasil, Shakira sang the song "La La La", a collaboration with Carlinhos Brown, at the closing ceremony, at Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro.

Shakira and Burna Boy join a series of artists who will participate in a triple celebration at the World Cup venues: United States, Mexico and Canada.
On June 11, in Mexico City, the Mexican band Maná and the South African singer Tyla will perform in the confrontation between Mexico and South Africa. Alejandro Fernández, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Belinda and the group Los Ángeles Azules have also been confirmed. Shakira and Burna Boy join them.
The following day, on June 12, in Toronto, Canadians Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette and Alessia Cara will perform before the clash between Canada and Bosnia. Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince were other names released.
