A judge banned the ultra-right candidate for president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, from using the Colombian football team's shirt as a "symbol" of his political party, following complaints from the left in the middle of the campaign for the second round.
Iván Cepeda, left-wing candidate and political heir to the current Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, accused in the on Monday the ultra-rightist of "stealing" and appropriating the shirt.
The second round between the two candidates will be held on June 21, after De la Espriella won the first round.

The 47-year-old lawyer, favorite for the presidency according to polls, usually wears the national team's shirt at public events just a few days before the World Cup, which starts on June 11 June.
The "immediate and definitive cessation" of the use of the shirt "as an identifying symbol of his political party, his campaign or his personal image in public spaces or in any medium" is determined, says the decision of a Bogotá judge.
Some of the millions of followers of the politician known as "The Tiger" wear the shirt with the animal's head printed on it and accompany it with his characteristic military salute at rallies.
In Colombia, thousands of citizens also take to the streets with the shirt tricolor in support of the national team and with enthusiasm ahead of the imminent start of the most important football tournament in the world.
The politicization of the national symbol generated discomfort among followers of the left and was applauded by the far right, which sees the use of the shirt as an act of "patriotism".
Colombia will play its first match in the World Cup on June 17 against Uzbekistan.
