Jennifer Aniston says Hollywood stars were nervous on 'Friends'

Actress Jennifer Aniston, 57, met with Lisa Kudrow, 62, to remember the good times when they were part of "Friends". The highly successful series aired between 1994 and 2004 and catapulted the careers of Jennifer and Lisa, immortalized by their roles as Rachel Green and Phoebe Buffay, respectively.

The reunion took place for Variety's Actors on Actors series, and Jennifer took the moment to comment on the participation of big names in cinema in the sitcom, which had a large part of its episodes recorded in studios with an audience present.

"The movie stars who participated in 'Friends'. Brad [Pitt], Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts, Isabella Rossellini," he began.

"We had so many, Sean Penn too. They were always nervous. Remember? I always found it fascinating how nervous they were."

Lisa agreed with her colleague and suggested what could cause the nervousness: "Yes. [They were] nervous. Well, because what's the tone? It's not theater; it's for TV. It's not a movie either. So, what is it?"

"I remember someone asked about this once. I didn't know how to explain it, so I said, 'Oh, just say it louder. It's the same intention, just...'"

"Louder," Jennifer added, laughing.

The cast of the iconic series also includes Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) and Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) as its main characters.

Lisa admitted that she spent a long time without watching most of the episodes, but recently watched the series.

"[I] loved it with all my heart. I'd end up sitting for three hours, and then I'd realize it was two in the morning and think, 'I need to go to bed! This isn't right!'"

"But, wow, it made me so happy to watch. And you were all good. My God! You were really good, Jennifer. That's such a ridiculous thing to say! Like, of course you were."

Jennifer recalled that, "at the very beginning" of the series' ten-season run, the cast used to get together to watch the episodes. However, Lisa noted that she didn't maintain this habit alone.

"It was a lot of fun. But then we got busy. There were whole episodes I'd never seen."

"I just couldn't sit at home watching a show I was a part of while someone walked past me. It made me feel embarrassed."
