Swiss court exposes messages in rape case at Schumacher home

Former Australian driver Joey Mawson is on trial for an alleged case of rape against a nurse in 2019 at the home of Michael Schumacher, one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula 1. The crime would have occurred in Switzerland, six years after the serious skiing accident, which would leave Schumi in total seclusion.

The Swiss court analyzing the case this week exposed messages exchanged after the alleged rape at Michael Schumacher's family home. During the hearing, the prosecution presented texts attributed to Mawson in which the Australian apologizes to the nurse involved in the case.

Among the messages revealed in court are expressions such as "I'm sorry" and "I'm sorry for the pain I'm causing."

The woman claims she felt unwell after drinking drinks and had to be taken to bed by everyone in the group, including Mawson. After a few minutes, the former pilot returned to the room and raped her twice while she was unconscious. When she woke up, she was naked and had no memory of the episodes.

According to the documents, blood was found on the bed and the victim showed signs of having been forcibly restrained.

The supposed proof of Mawson's act was the message shown by her where he apologized: "I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart. I am so sorry for the pain I am causing you", said the text message sent by the former Australian pilot.

Michael Schumacher's accident occurred on December 29, 2013, at the Méribel ski resort in France, during a family vacation. The former pilot suffered a severe head injury and had to undergo emergency surgery at the Grenoble University Hospital Center to relieve intracranial pressure.
