The bioinputs sector is organizing a campaign to pressure Mapa (Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock) and the Executive Branch for the regulation of Law No. 15,070/2024, known as the Bioinputs Law.
Created in partnership by Abbins (Brazilian Bioinputs Association) and GAAS (Associated Group for Sustainable Agriculture), the movement "Which side are you on?" seeks to mobilize producers to press for the regulation of the standard.
The campaign's proposal is to encourage producers to show the positive impact of "on farm", the multiplication of microorganisms within the agricultural property for their own use, on production throughout the month of June.

Understand the impasse
Sanctioned on December 23, 2024, the Bioinputs Law is the regulatory framework for the bioinputs sector, establishing standards for the production, commercialization and use of products in agriculture.
The text provided for a period of 360 days for the regulatory decree to be published by the Executive Branch, however, since its expiration in December 2025, the rule has not been published.

In January 2026, the government published the draft law, which provides the legal parameters of the text. However, according to the associations, the text is being processed behind the scenes due to "disagreements motivated by economic interests".
CNN contacted the Civil House and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, but did not receive a response until the publication of this article.
Loss caused by instability
The sector's main complaint with the impasse in regulating the law is the losses created by legal instability.
According to the executive director of Abbins, Reginaldo Minaré, the lack of regulation of the standard creates insecurity and uncertainty for producers.
"Today we have an incomplete regulatory structure, which is worse than the absence of the law. The sector is left waiting for the next steps", highlighted the executive director of ABBINS, Reginaldo Minaré.
For him, the lack of legal regulation deters investment and blocks the growth of the sector in Brazil.
"This is terrible, because Brazil, which was at the forefront, which occupies a prominent position on the world stage in the use of bio-inputs, could lose this position in the face of this slow regulation of the bio-inputs law", he added.
Coordination with authorities
This week, the topic was on the agenda for discussion between companies and sector entities and politicians.
On Tuesday (02/06), bioinputs were highlighted at the meeting of directors of Abrapa (Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers) with the Vice-President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin.
At the meeting, the association asked for Alckmin's support and special attention in completing and publishing the standard, classified as "strategic" by the association.
"Bio-inputs represent an important tool to increase the efficiency of agricultural production and strengthen the economic and environmental sustainability of the sector. Therefore, the regulation is eagerly awaited by producers", highlighted Abrapa's executive director, Marcio Portocarrero, after the meeting.
In the last week of May, executives from the company CropLife Brasi also met with the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, André de Paula, to explain the priorities for the sector, including the Bioinputs Law.
