Amazon announced this Thursday (4) an investment package to expand the use of robotics, speed up deliveries and train workers, including more than 10 billion euros to expand and modernize the network of logistics centers in Europe and US$1 billion for professional training programs until 2030.
The measures were presented during an event in London. According to the company, investments include new automation technologies, the creation of 25,000 jobs in Europe and the expansion of ultra-fast delivery services in international markets.
The company revealed a new generation of the autonomous robot Proteus, capable of operating in different areas of distribution centers and receiving instructions in natural language, without the need for programming. The equipment is in the testing phase and should be implemented in Europe from the first half of 2027.

In the delivery area, the company said it will expand Amazon Now internationally, a service that promises deliveries of purchases and essential items in up to 30 minutes, mainly in the United Kingdom and India. The company will also expand its European same-day delivery network to more than 25 locations this year.
In addition, Amazon will allocate US$1 billion to the Career Choice program, aimed at training workers in areas such as cybersecurity, software and logistics. The company also reported that the global fleet of electric delivery vehicles exceeded 50,000 units, half of the target set for 2030.
