Former PT treasurer and pre-candidate for the Chamber of Deputies, Delúbio Soares published a video on social media hugging President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) during an appointment in Goiás.
In the footage, Lula is taking photos at the construction inauguration event in Catalão (GO) and walks up to meet Delúbio to greet him. The publication refers to the president's point of view with the phrase: "You are inaugurating a project and see a long-time friend from afar."
"We met in the 70s, during the struggle, and we have been friends and companions ever since. I never failed to fulfill any mission given by him and the PT", wrote Delúbio in the caption of Wednesday's publication (3).

Delúbio is one of the founders of PT and CUT (Central Única dos Trabalhadores) and was sentenced by the STF (Supreme Federal Court) to eight years and 11 months in prison for his participation in the Mensalão scandal.

The then treasurer of the PT was appointed as responsible for financial transfers to parliamentarians to purchase political support.
The case was revealed in 2005. Delúbio was expelled from the party, but returned in 2011. The PT member served two years and three months in prison and was in an open regime when he received a pardon from the then STF minister Luís Roberto Barroso, in 2016.
Soon afterwards, Delúbio was convicted of money laundering in Operation Lava Jato by former judge Sergio Moro and spent two years in the prison system, until all evidence in the case was annulled.
Back to political life, the PT member is a pre-candidate for the Chamber of Deputies and is working on the PT candidate to run for government of Goiás in this year's elections.
