Iron Maiden experienced a very unusual moment during their most recent visit to Europe. Before taking the stage in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, the members of the historic British band were received by the country's president, Iliyana Yotova, in a meeting that quickly caught the attention of rock and heavy metal fans around the world.

The meeting took place on May 26, the same date that Iron Maiden performed at the Vasil Levski Stadium, one of the largest arenas in Bulgaria, with a capacity for approximately 60 thousand spectators. The show was part of the "Run For Your Lives" world tour, which celebrates the band's 50-year career.

During the meeting, Iliyana Yotova spoke with members of the group and later used her social networks to share her impression of the musicians. In a Facebook post, the president declared that she was impressed by the simplicity and humility of the artists, even though they are considered true legends of world heavy metal.

"It was a pleasure to welcome the musicians of Iron Maiden to Bulgaria. I am impressed that these legends and titans of metal on stage are extremely humble people. I wish them success at their show in Sofia tonight and for many years on stage," wrote the president.

The performance in Sofia marked the second stop of the new European leg of the "Run For Your Lives" tour. The special project celebrates half a century of Iron Maiden's existence and presents a repertoire focused exclusively on the band's classic phase, including songs released between the albums "Iron Maiden" (1980) and "Fear of the Dark" (1992).

One of the most talked about news by fans in this new phase of the tour was the return of the song "Infinite Dreams" to the setlist. The song was performed live again after a gap of 38 years, replacing "The Clairvoyant", another classic from the album "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son".

In addition to the commemorative tour, Iron Maiden is also celebrating its 50th anniversary with several special projects, including the retrospective book "Infinite Dreams", the documentary "Burning Ambition" and its long-awaited induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The tour will continue through several countries in Europe before moving on to America, Asia and Oceania. Brazilian fans are also already awaiting the band's arrival in the country in 2026, reinforcing expectations for another series of historic performances by the group led by Bruce Dickinson.
