Atlas/Intel survey released on Wednesday (3) shows that the majority of Brazilians show low or no degree of concern about the possibility of the United States government, under the presidency of Donald Trump, trying to influence the 2026 Brazilian presidential election.
According to the survey, 45.5% of those interviewed say they are "not at all concerned" about possible US interference in the dispute over the Palácio do Planalto and 10.9% say they are "little concerned".
On the other hand, 36.5% of those interviewed are "very concerned" about the possibility of the Trump government trying to influence in some way the presidential election in Brazil, in October this year. Still according to the survey, 6.9% said they were "somewhat worried" about this chance.

The margin of error is three percentage points, plus or minus, and the confidence level is 95%.
As CNN showed, in May this year, during an event in Washington, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated that he does not believe that President Donald Trump will interfere in the Brazilian elections.
"I think it's not a good policy for a president of another country to interfere in the elections of other countries. It's a basic principle so that we don't allow the cultural, political occupation and sovereignty of another country. I think our relationship with Trump is a sincere relationship", said Lula during a press conference after a conversation with the United States president.

"I don't believe that [Trump] will have influence in the Brazilian elections, especially because the Brazilian people vote. I think he will behave like the president of the United States, letting the Brazilian people define their destiny [...] Our relationship is very good. The Brazilian people will decide the Brazilian election. I don't believe in interference from anyone outside," he added.
