Limp Bizkit Thrills Fans with Touching Tribute to Late Bassist Sam Rivers

Limp Bizkit moved fans around the world by releasing a special tribute dedicated to Sam Rivers, bassist, co-founder and one of the most important figures in the band's history. The musician passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 48, leaving a huge void in the Nu Metal scene and among millions of the group's admirers.

The band published a video on its official YouTube channel entitled "Sam Rivers Forever", bringing together rare images, behind-the-scenes footage, relaxed moments and live performances that marked the bassist's career alongside Fred Durst, Wes Borland and company.



The soundtrack chosen to accompany the tribute was "Drown", a track from the album "Results May Vary", released in 2003. The combination of music and images transformed the video into a true celebration of Sam's life and career.

Although he temporarily left the band between 2015 and 2018, Rivers participated in practically the entire trajectory of Limp Bizkit, being responsible for some of the most striking bass lines in the history of Nu Metal. His style helped define the sonic identity that transformed the group into a worldwide phenomenon.

The official cause of death was not released. However, during a period away from the stage, the musician faced serious health problems related to his liver, and even underwent a transplant after being diagnosed with liver disease.

According to information released by the specialized press, the video now shared by the band is the same one that was shown during Limp Bizkit's return to the stage after Rivers' death. The tribute was presented in front of thousands of fans during the tour held in 2025.

This series of performances passed through Brazil in December of that year and also marked the entry of musician Richie "Kid Not" Buxton into the band's concert lineup.

The loss of Sam Rivers deeply affected the group's members. Shortly after his death, Fred Durst published an emotional video statement in which he recalled the beginning of the friendship between the two, highlighted the bassist's importance to the band's success and was unable to contain his tears when talking about his friend.

For fans, the "Sam Rivers Forever" video represents not only a tribute, but also a historical record of the contribution of a musician who helped create some of the biggest heavy rock hits of the 1990s and 2000s.
