Nestlé buys yfood Labs, a ready-to-drink meal brand

Nestlé will buy the smart food brand yfood Labs, the company said in a statement released on Wednesday (3). This will be the company's first acquisition under the leadership of new CEO, Philipp Navratil, who took office in September.
yfood Labs is a Munich-based company that offers ready-to-drink meals and food bars. According to the company, its products have a "complete nutritional profile" and were made to support a balanced diet.

Nestlé had already acquired a 49% stake in yfood in 2023. The expectation is that the remaining shares held by the founders of the smart food brand will be transferred to Nestlé from July 3, 2026.
The financial terms of the transaction will not be disclosed.

In Europe, yfood sales totaled approximately 150 million euros (R$ 875.9 million) in 2025, representing double-digit growth compared to the previous year.
Changes in strategy
Since taking the role at Nestlé, Navratil has announced several changes in the company's strategy.
In February this year, for example, the company announced that it was leaving the ice cream business to concentrate its operations on the Coffee, Nutrition and Pet Care segments. Together, these categories account for more than 70% of the company's sales.
The measure came as an attempt to improve the company's performance, which recorded a net profit of US$9 billion (R$45.1 billion) in 2025 - a drop of 17% compared to the previous year (US$10.9 billion, or R$54.7 billion).
