In front of Parque São Jorge, Corinthians fans call for the expulsion of Augusto Melo

On Monday night (1), the vote that could result in the expulsion of former president Augusto Melo, dismissed in the middle of last year, from the club's membership takes place at Parque São Jorge, Corinthians' headquarters. The disciplinary process refers to May 31, 2025, when the leader and his allies invaded the presidential office, claiming they had an injunction in hand to try to regain power, stating that his removal from office was no longer valid.

Ordinary fans and members of the club's main organized fan groups - Gaviões da Fiel, Estopim da Fiel, Camisa 12, Fiel Macabra and Pavilhão 9 - are in front of Parque São Jorge protesting against the president and calling for his expulsion from the club. This afternoon, Augusto tried to block the vote by filing a declaratory action nullifying the administrative disciplinary procedure, accompanied by a request for urgent protection. The president, it is worth remembering, was definitively impeached in August 2025, following irregularities in the case of the club's former master sponsor, VaideBet.

Last week, it is worth remembering, Andrés Sanchez ended up being excluded from membership due to irregular use of the institution's corporate card during his second term (2018-2020). For this reason, he was denounced by the Public Ministry in October 2025. Duílio Monteiro Alves, who was president of Corinthians between 2021 and 2023, is also the target of an investigation by the MP-SP for the irregular use of club resources.

At the end of last week, the former president, in a post on social media, renounced his title as a redeemed member of the club and, consequently, as a lifelong advisor and full member of the Guidance Council, leaving the membership. At Parque São Jorge, Corinthians fans put up two banners: "Dedetização Já", portraying images of Andrés Sanchez, Duílio Monteiro Alves and Augusto Melo and another similar one with the message: "Fora Ratazanas."

The Deliberative Council also plans a new session next week to analyze the situation of other associates and advisors identified as participants in the events of May 2025. Among the names that should be evaluated are Carlos Eduardo Melo Silva, Rodrigo Simonini Gonzalez, Wanderson Contrera Salles, Marcos Coelho Abdo, Paulo Rogerio Pinheiro Junior, Laercio Ferreira Victoria, Leandro Olmedila and Peterson Ruan.

Internal investigations identified, through images from the club's monitoring system, the presence of approximately 50 people in the presidency area during the attempt to regain power. In addition to the aforementioned counselors, some associates also participated in the mobilization.
