Fireworks factory explodes in Malta and forms a giant column of smoke
The explosion of a fireworks factory in Malta left at least two injured this Monday (1st).

According to the Portuguese portal Correio da Manhã, the explosion happened early this Monday morning, around 6:35 am (local time). This first explosion was followed by another.
Images circulating on social media show the extent of the explosion, which sent a cloud of smoke and debris over a great distance.
According to the publication, the explosion caused tremors in nearby residential areas.
Also according to Correio da Manhã, the two injured people work at the factory. There were no other employees working at the time.
According to Reuters, a resident of São Paulo Bay was knocked down by the shock wave caused by the explosion.
"Just before preparing coffee, as I do regularly, I went to the balcony. Two explosions occurred almost immediately, releasing a dense white cloud," he said.
"Several neighbors had shattered glass and doors ripped off by the force of the explosion. We are less than 2 kilometers from the factory, which has now been completely destroyed," he continued.
