Star of reality show 'Alaskan Bush People' found dead in river in US

Matt Brown, 43 years old, former participant in the program "Alaskan Bush People", was found dead in the Okanogan River, in the state of Washington, in the United States, this Saturday (30). The information was confirmed by the victim's brother, Bear Brown, on a social network.
The death was confirmed after four days of searching the river, the place where Matt was last seen being carried away by the current, according to witnesses' reports to the police - published by the local press.
Known in Brazil as "The Great Family of Alaska", the American reality show has been produced and broadcast by the Discovery Channel since 2014. The program follows the routine of the Brown family, who became famous for choosing to live completely "isolated" from modern civilization.

Another brother of the victim, Noah Brown, participated in the search and was at the scene when the body was found. A firearm was found nearby in the incident, police reported in local media. The star faced depression and substance abuse.

"He fought for a long time, as I already mentioned, and... I was so worried that he was going to end up, you know, having an overdose or something. I didn't think he was going to get hurt," said Bear Brown, in a video.
In the statement to fans, Bear states that Matt was found with injuries that appear to have been caused by himself - which surprised the family. According to his brother, although the family knew that Matt was going through problems and feared an overdose, they had no idea that he would take his own life. The cause of death has yet to be confirmed by authorities.

The artist's brother also details that Matt was the target of attacks on social media.
"Many people left a lot of negative comments (...). In one of his last videos, he was actually talking about how negative people were in his posts. And you should keep in mind that the people on the other side of the screen, the people who you're watching a video, you're also real people," Bear said.
