Lisbon court orders 'Hulk' member of the PCC released

The Lisbon Court of Appeal ordered the immediate release of the member of the criminal group PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) detained in Portugal, Ygor Daniel Zago, also known as "Hulk", after the period of preventive detention ended this Wednesday (27). The information was released by CNN Portugal.

Despite the extradition request presented, the decision cannot be executed as an asylum request made by the detainee is pending.

The deadline ended 20 days after the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice became final, which granted Brazil's extradition request for "Hulk".

The Lisbon Court of Appeal also pointed out, according to CNN Portugal, that, although the pending decision on the asylum request suspends the extradition process, it does not interrupt the counting of the period of pre-trial detention.

"Hulk" was forced to hand over his Brazilian passport within 48 hours. Furthermore, he is prevented from leaving the country and must report daily to the police station in the area where he resides.

Brazilian authorities had requested the extradition of Ygor Daniel Zago at the end of November last year.

The PCC member was arrested on November 13, 2025 by the Judicial Police, through an international arrest warrant, issued by Brazil, for crimes of criminal association, corruption and money laundering.

International fugitive
The Judiciary Police arrested, in November 2025, a Brazilian considered an international fugitive. The man, identified as Ygor Daniel Zago, aged 44, was arrested in Lisbon with his wife.

According to the Portuguese Judicial Police, the seizure of 30 thousand liters of methanol, in 2023, began the investigation that resulted in the arrest of the Brazilian couple. The Portuguese authorities also stated that, during the investigations, corruption of public officials was discovered.
