With Bernard decisive, Atlético-MG qualifies in the Copa Sudamericana

The best chance for the home team came with Renan Lodi, in the 19th minute, with a cross shot.

But the real scare in the first half was the visiting team. In the 30th minute, Flores advanced from the right and shot to a good save by Éverson.

Galo is back on track
In the second half, Atlético-MG came back better and with more creativity in constructing the plays. Atletica's attack managed to get close to the opponent's goal, not letting Puerto Cabello breathe.

In the seventh minute, Bernard took a shot, making goalkeeper Graterol work. Soon after, it was Dudu's turn to scare his rival with a low finish.

The idol decides
The pressure of the second half had an effect.

In the 16th minute Bernard appeared again to open the scoring. The attacking midfielder attempted a pass that was intercepted, but the ball was left for the Galo idol to hit a beautiful shot from outside the area, making Massa Atleticana celebrate at Arena MRV.

The 1-0 partial victory guaranteed Atlético-MG's direct place in the round of 16 of the South American Championship. Therefore, the team coached by Eduardo Domínguez adopted a more cautious stance after the goal.

Even with more possession of the ball, Puerto Cabello was unable to pose any danger, and Galo took advantage of counter attacks. In the 34th minute, after a pass from Cuello, Natanael overtook on the right side and finished at the post.

In the last minute of the game, Cassierra received a great assist from Mamady Cissé, but ended up hitting the post.

The goal was no mistake for Galo, who won 1-0 and secured qualification.

Group situation
With the victory at Arena MRV, Atlético-MG qualified at the top of Group B with 10 points. Galo guaranteed a direct place in the round of 16 of the South American Championship.

Puerto Cabello ended its participation in the bottom of the group with 7 points.
