Video: Bus with students loses control and colleagues are scared in MG

A bus carrying more than 30 students from IFNMG (Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais) was involved in an accident this Tuesday morning (26) on BR-367 in Almeraka, in Vale do Jequitinhonha (MG).

The accident was recorded by students from the same institute who were on a bus that was following behind. Colleagues are scared when they see the collective crossing the highway out of control. In another video, you can see the students involved in the accident asking for help.

There were 31 people in the group, who were taken to health units in the region.

In a note, the IFNMG informed that classes at the Almenara Campus were suspended this Wednesday (27) due to the accident. "All those involved were duly monitored, referred and received assistance from the competent authorities", informed the institution.

This Wednesday (27), four of the 31 injured were still hospitalized but their health status was not disclosed.

The company responsible for the bus that brings students to practice also expressed its opinion in a statement.

"The company Fabio Porto Transportes informs that, due to the accident that occurred this Tuesday, May 26, 2026, involving one of its vehicles responsible for transporting students to the Federal Institute of the North of Minas Gerais, all assistance and support measures were immediately adopted.

From the first moments, the company monitors the situation comprehensively, providing all necessary support to students and their families, together with the competent bodies and service teams in the region, especially SAMU and the Military Police.

We inform that all occupants received medical care and follow-up and were taken to the Deraldo Guimarães Hospital. Fortunately, thank God, there were no serious cases reported as a result of the accident.

We reaffirm that the safety, integrity and well-being of students have always been and will continue to be the company's absolute priority.

Finally, we clarify that for 14 years of providing transport services to students at the IFNMG Campus Almenara, we have always acted with responsibility and commitment to the safety of students, keeping our vehicles inspected and with preventive maintenance up to date.

We remain at the disposal of the competent authorities to provide all necessary clarifications, at the same time that we express our solidarity with the students and families involved, making ourselves entirely available to offer all necessary assistance during the students' recovery."
