Wall Street trades mixed amid uncertainty over US-Iran deal

Wall Street's main stock indices operate without a single direction this Wednesday (27).

The White House recently refuted Iranian state media's report on a supposed draft agreement between the United States and Iran, classifying it as a "complete fabrication."

"This report from Iranian-controlled media is not true and the memorandum of understanding they "released" is a complete fabrication. No one should believe what Iranian state media is reporting," the White House posted on Facebook.

Iran's state TV earlier reported that Tehran had obtained a draft framework for a deal with the US that would restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz within a month in exchange for a US military withdrawal and the lifting of a naval blockade.

In addition, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened on Tuesday (26) to retaliate after the US carried out what it described as "self-defense strikes" against missile launch sites and Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday (25). Despite this, the Nasdaq and S&P 500 renewed closing records on Tuesday (26) amid optimism about the artificial intelligence sector.

At around 1 pm, Brasília time, the Dow Jones rose 0.33%, to 50,628 points, while the Nasdaq lost 0.32%, to 26,570 points, and the S&P 500 fell 0.16%, to 7,507 points.
