Woman asked for protective measure before being thrown off a cliff by her ex in MG

Ana Claúdia Souza, a woman who was kidnapped, threatened and thrown off a cliff by her ex-partner Silvanildo Amâncio de Araújo, in Belo Horizonte (MG), had requested a protective measure against the man five days before the crime.

The victim registered a police report on May 20th and was kidnapped by the man this Monday (25th). Ana Cláudia was rescued alive on Tuesday afternoon (26), in Serra do Rola-Moça, in the city's metropolitan region.

In her record with the police when she requested the measure, she stated that she had a 12-year relationship with Silvanildo and that the two have a 9-year-old daughter, but they separated in February this year.

The man sought out Ana to renew the relationship, but she did not accept. About four months ago, she began to be chased by him, who went to a house where she was working as a day laborer, demanding that the owner of the house let him in.

On May 8, he was caught on security cameras hanging around another house where the victim works. Later that same day, he picked up the couple's daughter from school in the morning and took her to her mother's house, but started an argument with the woman in front of the house.

Also according to the police report, after the argument, Ana entered the house with her daughter, but received a call from the man on the child's cell phone. When he answered, he heard several insults: "Disgrace, you're going to pay me back, you disgraced my life, you took me away from my daughter."

The woman had been missing since Monday (25) after being kidnapped, threatened and thrown off a cliff by Silvanildo. For the rescue, according to the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department, drones and thermal sensors were needed on the first day of searches.

On the second day, the location and air rescue were carried out with the help of the corporation's Archangel aircraft (helicopter). In total, seven land vehicles and a helicopter were mobilized. Around 22 professionals participated in the operation on both days. Watch the rescue video:

When found, the victim was conscious and oriented, with no signs of fractures, only with bruises from the fall, which was approximately 50 meters high, the first 10 meters being in a steeper position. She was evaluated by the Archangel crew medical team and received air transportation to HPS João XXIII.

Silvanildo Amâncio de Araújo was arrested by the Military Police in Várzea da Palma and remains in the corporation's custody, as reported by the Civil Police. After completing the Social Defense Event Registration (Reds), the procedure will be forwarded to the local Civil Police Station, in accordance with legal procedures.

CNN Brasil had access to the video that shows Silvanildo Amâncio de Araújo confessing to the crime. In his statement, he claims to have picked up the woman at work on Monday (25), but says he did not plan to commit violence.
