The Chamber of Deputies had a quick session this Wednesday morning (27) in the plenary of the House to unlock the vote on the end of the 6x1 scale in the special committee.


The plenary meeting lasted just eight minutes. It was presided over by deputy Charles Fernandes (PSD-BA) and featured only speeches. No votes were taken. Representative Jorge Solla (PT-BA) was the only one to speak on the platform and spoke in defense of reducing working hours.


The opinion of the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) on the end of the 6×1 scale was presented on Monday (25) by the rapporteur, deputy Leo Prates (Republicanos-BA). The text, however, was subject to a request for review (more time for analysis), requested by the opposition.

The deadline considers two plenary sessions. To this end, the president of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), called deliberative sessions on Tuesday afternoon (26) and this Wednesday morning.


The special committee for PEC 6×1 has a meeting scheduled this morning to vote on the proposal. If approved, the expectation is that the matter will be analyzed in plenary this Wednesday or Thursday morning (28).


A new plenary session is scheduled for this Wednesday afternoon, starting at 3pm.

Hugo Motta and the government base are in a hurry to vote on the proposal, assessed as an electoral asset.


The opinion, agreed with the government, provides for a reduction of two hours in the working day and two days of rest after 60 days of the promulgation of the new rule. After a year, the text provides for another two hours of reduction in weekly working hours to reach 40 hours.
