Filipe Luís, ex-Flamengo, is plan A to take over European club

Fired from Flamengo in March, Filipe Luís could take on his first job in European football. The Brazilian is the main name investigated by Bayer Leverkusen, from Germany. The information comes from journalist Florian Plettenberg, from Sky Sports Germany.

Bayer is coming off a season with average results. The team finished in 6th place in the Bundesliga, in addition to being eliminated in the semi-finals of the German Cup and in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Next season, the team will compete in the Europa League.

The German club, according to information from Sky Sports, will announce the departure of the current coach after having signed a contract with his replacement. Danish Kasper Hjulmand, Bayer coach, will not continue as team commander.

Filipe Luís's career
After "hanging up his boots" in December 2023, after four and a half seasons playing for Flamengo, Filipe Luís began his career in the youth divisions of the Rio club. Between January and September 2024, he managed the Ninho boys (Under-17 and Under-20).

With Tite's dismissal, he took over Flamengo's main team in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil. With victories over Corinthians and Atlético, they won the title at Arena MRV.
