Ganley: Nutritionist warned about risk to the heart before death

Nutritionist and influencer Rodrigo Góes revealed concern about the heart of fitness influencer Gabriel Ganley days before his death, in São Paulo. According to the death certificate, the cause of death was hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

In a video published on social media 19 days before Ganley's death, Góes revealed concern about Ganley's heart health and that of influencer Matheus Lacerda during an analysis of the use of anabolic steroids.

In the video, Rodrigo Góes reacted to a video in which the two athletes appeared using substances before training. During the comment, the nutritionist stated that the main point of attention was the impact of steroids on the heart. "These young people are using high doses of anabolic steroids. What they cannot neglect is medical monitoring. And what worries me most in this current phase of both of them? The heart", he declared. "The heart needs constant attention, heart failure is very common in bodybuilding athletes", added the influencer.

Góes is known on social media for combating the commonplace use of anabolic steroids. In another video, the influencer lamented. "I wish I was wrong," he said.

Gabriel Ganley died last Saturday (23), after being found in the apartment where he lived, in the east zone of São Paulo. According to the death certificate, the cause of death was hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a disease characterized by abnormal thickening of the heart muscle, a condition that can compromise blood circulation and increase the risk of serious arrhythmias.
