Musician Paul McCartney, 83, admitted that he sees a "parallel" between Taylor Swift and the Beatles. The star said that the singer is experiencing a level of fame comparable to what his band experienced during the Beatlemania period in the 1960s.

"You can see the parallel, the worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and the one we had", he said in an interview with the BBC.

When asked if he would give Taylor any advice, he responded: "I don't think she needs advice, to be honest..."

"If she asked, I would definitely give. I'm like a big brother to this generation, or more like a grandfather, actually."

Paul revealed that he met Taylor at a party organized by his wife, Nancy Shevell, and his daughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney. The former Beatle said that the event was also attended by other music stars.

"At the party were Taylor, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter... They are very nice people, very good. I like their voices... If you need any advice, yes, I would be happy to give it, but I don't think you need it", added the star.

Paul's comments came after he opened up about how he deals with fame after so many years in the spotlight.

During an appearance on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, he explained: "When you become famous, you love it, because that's what you were trying to achieve. Something goes right, people on the street recognize you and you love it. There was no 'oh, people bother me' thing, that's a modern affliction. We loved it. And you learn to deal with it."

However, he said he currently refuses to pose for selfies with fans who approach him on the street: "I say I don't like doing that because something important to me, something to do with the issue of innocence and continuing to be normal, would be lost. The minute I start to think of myself as something above myself, I won't like myself anymore. It's very important for me to just be myself."
