How the game went
Montevideo City Torque created the first big chance of the match after just two minutes. Obregón received it alone from Pizzi in the small area, but finished over the goal.

The Uruguayans were scary again at nine. Rodríguez was launched on a counterattack, took off at speed down the right and hit a cross, with the ball passing close to goalkeeper Weverton's post.

The team found the net in the 13th minute, but the goal was disallowed after Rodríguez touched the arm before finishing. The move was reviewed by VAR, which confirmed the irregularity.

At 16, Grêmio wasted a good opportunity. Tetê crossed into the area, but Amuzu, free, was unable to reach the ball. Afterwards, Pedro Gabriel avoided the goal line and served Tiago, who took a risk from outside the area, without success.

Grêmio started to miss many passes, giving space to the advances of Montevideo City Torque. After two consecutive mistakes by Luís Eduardo, coach Luís Castro decided to make a change and put Wagner Leonardo on the field. Pavón also left the match after feeling pain and gave way to Marcos Rocha.

The fans at Arena do Grêmio got excited in the 35th minute, when Tetê escaped the marking and crossed dangerously into the area. Carlos Vinícius appeared to finish, but hit weakly, in the middle of the goal, making it easier for Torgnascioli to defend.

Better in the first half of the match, Montevideo City Torque insisted and opened the scoring in the 36th minute. Facundo Silvera was launched from the left wing, invaded the area and crossed for Salomón Rodríguez to complete the ball into the back of the net.

Grêmio came back from the break more aggressive and needed just a minute to equalize. Gabriel Mec, who had just replaced Amuzu, received a good pass from Arthur, invaded the area and finished into the goalkeeper's left corner.

The striker scored again in the sixth minute, in a counterattack, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

In the 15th minute, Marcos Rocha took a long shot to save Torgnascioli. On the rebound, Gabriel Mec tried to take advantage, but the goalkeeper saved it again. Afterwards, Carlos Vinícius also stopped at the Uruguayan archer after receiving a good pass from Arthur in the area.

Shortly after, it was Weverton's turn to appear. Aguerro risked the shot and the Grêmio goalkeeper palmed it away. On the rebound, Rodríguez had the surplus and finished, but stopped again after a great save from number 1.

Grêmio responded in the 27th minute and almost turned the match around. Braithwaite headed in Pedro Gabriel's cross and hit the post.

At 38, Montevideo City Torque once again complicated the situation for the team from Rio Grande do Sul. Pizzichillo took a free kick with precision and put the Uruguayans back ahead on the scoreboard.

The Grêmio reaction came shortly afterwards. At 40 minutes, the referee signaled a penalty after a foul by Tarán. Carlos Vinícius took the penalty, converted and left everything the same again.

Grêmio still had good chances in the last minutes, but, without being able to turn things around, they were tied 2-2. With the result, the Brazilian team finished the group stage in second place and will have to compete in the playoffs in search of a place in the round of 16.
