Paris Jackson, 28, spoke in an interview with the Trying Not to Die podcast, this Tuesday (26), about her relationship with her father, Michael Jackson (1958-2009). She opened up about how being the daughter of a superstar made her believe from a young age that she "owed people" details of her private life and relationship with her family.

The King of Pop died when Paris was just 11 years old. After the star's death, she reports that the feeling that she needed to share everything worsened, and that, over time, this relationship changed. "That's changed drastically in the last few years, because I don't really feel like any of us owe anyone anything," he said.

She used as an example the way she uses social media to express herself. The singer and songwriter, who has more than 7 million followers on Instagram, says she no longer feels the need to share personal details about her father on important dates, such as his birthday and the anniversary of his death.

"Now I'm learning that I can have my own personal relationship and that I have permission to be private about him [Michael], and now I think, 'My relationship is the most beautiful relationship ever,'" Paris said. "I'm in a really beautiful place with my dad and I love it, and it's no one else's business; I don't have to share it with anyone. And it gives me a lot of freedom, which is really cool."

In the interview, the artist also expressed her frustration at being called a "spoiled little girl" and explained that her father raised her with "a lot of ethics", especially when it comes to work. Paris has two other brothers, Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24. Prince was executive producer of "Michael", a recently released biopic about the "Thriller" singer, which grossed almost $800 million.

Paris, on the other hand, didn't want to get close to the production before release and explained on social media that she read an initial script and offered suggestions on what she thought "was dishonest/didn't feel right."

Recently, she won a lawsuit against those responsible for her father's estate. The young woman managed to recover more than US$625,000 (more than R$3 million) that had been paid by the executors of the fortune to third-party lawyers.
