Government is confident about enabling exports to the EU, says Alckmin

This Tuesday (26), the Vice-President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, stated that the government is confident that it can prove the efficiency and safety of standards required for export to the European Union by September, a period in which the country must leave the list of partners qualified to send products such as beef, poultry, eggs and honey.

"Brazil is one of the largest producers in the world and the largest exporter of animal and vegetable protein in the world. We have a characteristic that is the high standard for animal health. If it happens in the case of foot-and-mouth disease, we are one of the few countries in the world that is free from the disease without vaccination", he said.

Alckmin expressed confidence in proving and rehabilitating Brazilian exports by the deadline stipulated by the bloc. "The map will provide all the necessary clarifications and information for the European Union. We still have until September to prove our health security and we are very confident", he highlighted.
