I am convinced that all sectors will adapt, says Hugo about 6×1

The president of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), said this Tuesday (26) that he is convinced that the different economic sectors will adapt to the reduction in the work schedule. In an interview with CNN, the deputy stated that Congress will be available to help with this adaptation.

According to Motta, this is a political decision already taken in Congress and many businesspeople are drawing catastrophic scenarios for reducing working hours to 40 hours a week, but this is not considered a reality.

"Back then, when slavery was ended, there was an exercise in predicting that the country would not be able to withstand it. Likewise, a climate of pessimism is building about the reduction. I am fully convinced that, when Congress enacts this constitutional amendment, all sectors will adapt and we will be here politically to help the sectors adapt. What there is is the political decision to make this change", he said.

Motta also reinforced that the reduction will not have a significant impact on reducing productivity, as other factors interfere with the increase in production in each sector. He cites technological advances and the end of bureaucratization as an example.

"I disagree with this statement. If productivity is low it is not because of a working class that does not work. On the contrary, we have one of the largest scales in the world. Increasing productivity involves a discussion of the country as a whole: investment in technology, industrialization and reduction of bureaucratization. The speech that reduction is a villain for productivity is not correct", he stated.

One of the questions asked by the business community is the specificities of each sector when it comes to reducing scale. Motta highlighted that the bill sent by the government will be used to deal with the details of the reduction and the particularities of each sector of the economy.
