The entry into force of the updated NR-1 (Regulatory Standard No. 1), this Tuesday (26), begins to have effects that go beyond labor inspection and the reorganization of internal policies within companies.

The new rule, which expands organizations' responsibility for psychosocial risks linked to mental health in the corporate environment, also opens up space for a new front of technology focused on labor compliance, risk monitoring and prevention of legal liabilities.

With the update, factors such as exhausting working hours, abusive goals, excessive pressure, moral harassment, interpersonal conflicts and failures in work organization become explicitly part of companies' occupational risk management, alongside physical, chemical and biological risks.

In practice, this means that companies will need to not only identify these factors, but also record evidence, adopt action plans and demonstrate continuous monitoring of situations that could lead to mental illness or compromise organizational security.

This new scenario has accelerated the development of technological solutions aimed at practical adaptation to the legal requirements of the standard.

Corporate compliance experts assess that the pressure for traceability, prevention and integration between areas such as Human Resources, Legal and Operations has driven platforms capable of transforming regulatory requirements into more structured management processes.

It is in this context that platforms developed to support companies in the integrated management of occupational and psychosocial risks emerge.

According to Pamela Pedro, from Compliance Control, there was a perceived gap between the legal obligation and the operational capacity of many companies to monitor risks with security, evidence and quick response, which opens up space for a potential market.

"With the entry into force of the penalties provided for in NR-1, we identified the need to unify solutions with monitoring and traceability to meet the new legal requirements with a legal and technological perspective", he states.

In addition to identifying non-conformities, there are platforms that work to guide corrective measures. According to Pamela, it is possible to cross-reference data, recognize previously mapped risks and respect the action plans already foreseen within the PGR (Risk Management Program).

"The system points out correction paths through artificial intelligence resources and integration with the organization's PGR, recognizing the identified risks and respecting the action plans already foreseen in the document", he explains.

In practice, the proposal is to transform NR-1 into continuous operational management, which connects different areas of the company into a single monitoring and response environment.

It is necessary to pay attention to the beneficiary's profile, says CEO of Geap Saúde | MONEY NEWS

"The software transforms the requirements of NR-1 into a practical and integrated management of occupational and psychosocial risks. The platform monitors the risks foreseen in the PGR, generates diagnoses, monitors preventive actions and centralizes all communication, traceability and response of the organization.

In practice, it connects Compliance, HR, Legal and Operations in a single environment", he says.

Among the resources used are artificial intelligence, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), automations and intelligent data crossing, as well as integrations via API with third-party systems.

The combination of these technologies seeks to expand companies' analytical capacity, improve the reliability of information and generate strategic indicators that allow for faster and more preventive decisions.

Another central challenge, according to experts, is to avoid misinterpretations or generic analyzes within platforms.

Pamela states that accuracy depends on reading the operational reality of each company.

"The platform uses the client's own risk matrix as a basis, associated with the responses and evidence recorded by employees, ensuring analyzes that are more in line with operational reality. The traceability of information, the history of actions and the crossing of data allow for greater precision in monitoring risks", he states.

Solution undergoes technical and regulatory validation
The entry into force of NR-1 tends to expand the technology and mental health market in the coming years.

More than a discussion about corporate well-being, the standard starts to drive a transformation linked to governance, productivity, illness prevention and reduction of legal vulnerabilities.

In practice, mental health at work is no longer treated solely as an organizational culture issue and begins to occupy a more strategic space within the areas of management, compliance and corporate technology.
