Wall Street's main stock indices operate without a single direction this Tuesday (26), amid optimism about the artificial intelligence sector.

Concerns about peace negotiations in the Middle East, however, continue, following the recent attacks by the United States against Iran - which dampens expectations that an agreement to end the war is close.

The United States described attacks on missile launch sites and Iranian vessels on Monday (25) as "self-defense attacks." The attacks came hours after Iranian negotiators met with Qatari mediators in Doha for talks on a deal with the US.

"The move is clearly a warning sign that the ceasefire is fragile, so we will have to see what the next few days of negotiations bring," Deutsche Bank analysts wrote in a note.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the deal with Tehran could "take a few days", while Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that Tehran is seeking the release of $24 billion in Iranian funds frozen abroad.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard also said on Tuesday (26) that it reserves the "legitimate and definitive" right to retaliate against any violations of the ceasefire by the United States, adding that air defense units shot down an American MQ-9 drone and fired at a fighter jet that had entered Iranian airspace, state media reported.

In addition, Middle Eastern nations "will no longer serve as shields for American bases," declared Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

"Not only will the United States no longer have a safe haven for artifice and the establishment of military bases in the region, but it will also, every day, move further away from its former status," continued the supreme leader.

At around 12:10 pm, Brasília time, the Dow Jones fell 0.17%, to 50,493 points, while the Nasdaq rose 1.15%, to 26,647 points, and the S&P 500 gained 0.71%, to 7,526 points.

Brent oil, the global reference, in August, rose more than 4%, to US$ 97.23 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the American reference, in July, lost more than 2.3%, at US$ 94.30 per barrel.

Among the market's highlights, semiconductor stocks, which rose with AI-driven demand, led the gains. Micron jumped more than 16% and Marvell Technology gained more than 3%, while Intel and Qualcomm gained 2.58% and 5.54%, respectively.
