Delegate Henrique Damasceno, responsible for the initial investigation into Henry Borel's death, stated this Tuesday (26) that the version presented by the defendants shortly after the crime was a "rehearsed farce".
The testimony took place at the opening of the second day of the trial at the II Rio de Janeiro Jury Court, where former councilor Jairo Souza Santos Júnior, Dr. Jairinho, and Monique Medeiros are tried for the murder of the 4-year-old boy.

During his speech, the delegate highlighted differences between Monique's testimony and the technical evidence collected.
Monique claimed that she had rushed home after a warning from the nanny, but analysis of the messages indicated that she stayed in a beauty salon for hours before arriving at the apartment.
Damasceno also stated that witnesses, including the child's nanny and grandmother, were instructed by lawyers to lie in their initial statements at the police station.

Routine of assaults and expert reports
The investigation conducted by the Civil Police showed that Henry was subjected to a routine of assaults and torture carried out by his stepfather.
In one of the reported episodes, Jairinho allegedly locked the boy in a room, and the child was heard shouting "I promise". Afterwards, the child allegedly claimed that he "fell out of bed".
The report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) identified 23 injuries on the victim's body, with the cause of death being internal bleeding and liver laceration caused by blunt force.
According to the delegate, these results make the hypothesis of a domestic accident, supported by the defense, technically impossible.

The jury must extend for a period of seven to ten days. In addition to Damasceno, the program for this second day includes hearings from delegate Ana Carolina Medeiros and expert Luiz Carlos Prestes.
