Who is Rodrigo Paz Pereira?
With a life marked by politics even before he was born, Rodrigo Paz Pereira is the son of the former president of Bolivia Jaime Paz Zamora (1989-1993).

Paz was born in 1967, thousands of kilometers from the Andes, in Spain, when his family was in exile during a time of military dictatorships in their country.
After his first years abroad, he studied in La Paz. He was 12 years old when his father was the only survivor of an alleged air attack.
The Bolivian leader studied economics and international relations, in addition to earning a master's degree in political management at the American University, in Washington.
In 2002, he arrived at Congress as a deputy for the department of Tarija, but between 2010 and 2020 he returned to the city of the same name, where he was first a councilor and then mayor.
In the last five years, he served as national senator for the Comunidad Ciudadana alliance, led by former president Carlos Mesa.
