Production and processing
During the harvest, São Martinho processed around 21.9 million tons of sugar cane and 521 thousand tons of corn, totaling 3.045 million tons of ATR (total recoverable sugar) produced.
According to the company, the period was marked by a lack of rain in a phase considered critical for the development of the crop, which impacted agricultural productivity and the level of TRS in the sugarcane field.
During the period, the company sold approximately 1.4 million tons of sugar, 1.2 billion liters of ethanol, 1,113 thousand MWh of renewable electricity and 137 thousand tons of DDGs.
In a statement, the company stated that the harvest scenario was marked by volatility in commodity prices, weather challenges and macroeconomic uncertainties.
The company also reported that, given the drop in sugar prices and volatility in the ethanol market, it changed the production mix in September to increase the share of biofuel and concentrated 40% of ethanol sales in the fourth quarter.
São Martinho also highlighted investments made throughout 2025, including the acquisition of sugarcane fields from Santa Elisa.
In the new business segment, the company reported the start of operation of its biomethane plant at the Santa Cruz unit and announced new investments in corn ethanol.
According to the company, the results of the first plant attached to the Boa Vista unit led to the approval of the expansion of production capacity.
Projection 2026/27
For the next harvest, the company projects growth of 10.7% in ATR, totaling 3.37 million tons, and record crushing of around 23.7 million tons of sugar cane.
According to the company, the expectation is related to the rainfall recorded at the end of the cycle, the expansion of the harvest area and the management of the green mass in the sugarcane fields.
For the 2026/27 harvest, the company estimates that the corn ethanol plant will contribute 364.3 thousand tons of TRS, from the processing of 495 thousand tons of corn, a volume 5% lower than previously recorded. The projection considers production of approximately 209 thousand cubic meters of ethanol, a drop of 5.4%, in addition to 134 thousand tons of DDGs, a decrease of 3.1%, and 8 thousand tons of corn oil, a decrease of 0.3%.
According to the company, the estimate considers industrial efficiency levels in line with those of the 2025/26 harvest and a longer maintenance period due to the implementation schedule of the second phase of the Boa Vista unit plant.
