Leo XIV's power is limited, but not small, says AI professor

In this sense, Gonçalves believes that the choice of the name "Leão XIV" carries a clear symbolic intention.

"I believe that Pope Leo XIV chose the name with this hope, that he will also be able to influence this debate", he said.

For the professor, the pope sees a hierarchy in which economic power needs to be controlled by political power, and this, in turn, must be guided by an ethical and moral vision.
