NBA: Knicks sweep Cavaliers, conquer the East and go to the Finals

The New York Knicks visited the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Monday night (25), won 130-93, at the Rocket Arena, in Cleveland, Ohio, secured the sweep by making it 4-0 in the series, won the Eastern Conference title and guaranteed a place in the NBA Finals.

The highlight was Karl-Anthony Towns, with 19 points and 14 rebounds, helping the Knicks advance to the Finals for the first time since 1999. The New York franchise also went 11 games unbeaten in the playoffs, equaling the third longest streak in a single postseason in NBA history.

OG Anunoby scored 17 points; while Landry Shamet contributed 16 off the bench, making all four of his three-point shots, for New York, which opened a 29-point lead in the second quarter and led 123-78 heading into the final quarter.

The Knicks eventually took a 61-32 lead on Shamet's third 3-pointer of the first half. Interestingly, Mitchell had scored ten points; and Mobley, seven, in the first six minutes, giving the Cavaliers a 17-14 lead.
