Lawyer Ana Carolina Novaes Pessoa has been missing since Sunday (24), after falling from a jetski near Prainha on Combu Island, in Belém.


The search for the victim entered its second day this Monday (25), mobilizing teams from the Pará Military Fire Department and the Brazilian Navy.


According to preliminary information released by the Navy, Ana Carolina fell into the water while sailing in the region.

After becoming aware of the case, the Port Authority of the Eastern Amazon reported that it deployed teams to assist in the search. In a statement, the Navy informed that the operation takes place in conjunction with the Pará Military Fire Department (CBMPA).


"In immediate response, the Eastern Amazon Port Authority (CPAOR) deployed a team to the location, in order to carry out searches in coordination with the Pará Military Fire Department (CBMPA). The searches will continue this Monday (25)", informed the institution.

The Navy also confirmed the opening of an Inquiry into Navigation Accidents and Facts (IAFN), which should investigate the causes, circumstances and possible responsibilities related to the disappearance.


On social media, friends of the lawyer follow and help in the searches. In a video published this Monday (25), the victim's friend, Paulo Cesar, stated that Ana Carolina was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident, but that the equipment had opened after falling into the water.


According to him, a part of the vest's coupling had broken during the impact. Furthermore, he confirmed that the victim was qualified. During the searches carried out on this second day, teams located Carolina's life jacket, jetski and cap.


"Carol, woman, really good people. And her friends are here, positive expectation of meeting her as soon as possible", said Paulo Cesar in a video published on social media.
